Kirchenlaibach is still a railway hub. But the steam locomotive depot has been gone for 50 years. My 22 photos show, among other things, long-forgotten coal-loading facilities—simple inspirations for gauge 1 layouts.

After-work project: underground hydrant

When looking at old photos, you occasionally discover long-forgotten details that were commonplace on railways decades ago. For example, an underfloor hydrant, which can be easily recreated using parts from your spare parts box. A little after-work craft project from Switzerland that requires very little space.
